Beth Hatefutsoth launches school for Jewish Peoplehood

The International School for Jewish Peoplehood Studies has officially opened at the Beit Hatefutsoth museum. “The vision of the school is to nurture a connection and commitment of the young generation to its people and to create a foundation for a vibrant Jewish people” said school director Shlomo Ravid. Teachers and students are being trained in Jewish peoplehood which is becoming a key issue or “buzzword” in the Jewish world.

Social activists call to transform Heshvan

KolDor was joined by many organizations in proposing to the Israeli Knesset that the Hebrew month of Heshvan be officially recognized as Jewish Social Action Month. “By transforming Heshvan into Jewish Social Action Month we are recreating some of the factors leading to collective action among all kinds of Jews worldwide” said KolDor member Yossi Abramowitz. Knesset support for the proposal and examples of JSAM activities around the world are discussed.
