In a series of blog posts, the Jewish Agency’s emissary to Hillel Ilan Wagner claims that for Zionism to once again provide the ideological motor of the collective Jewish enterprise in the 21st Century, it needs to be compelling, relevant and inspiring, on both sides of the ocean, in Israel and in the Diaspora. One of the ideas he brings to mind is the suggestion of abandoning the dream of mass Aliyah and embracing a new model of mass is immersion in Israeli society as a critical building block for a new Jewish vitality and a new Zionism.

They also outline the political standing of the Jews, including an evaluation of how various governments treat them and how policies are reached within the Jewish community. The final part of the book is a summary of findings and proposed strategies for maximizing collaboration between the Jewish communities.

Most immigrants define themselves first as Jewish and then according to their country of origin. The Ruppin Institute examined different immigrant groups' social, economic and employment integration in Israel. The index, which will be presented to the Knesset's Immigration and Absorption Committee, is based on a broad survey by the Central Bureau of Statistics of 2,500 immigrants who were interviewed for the survey in their mother tongues.
